Blue Eyes by sweetgreychaos Blue Eyes by sweetgreychaos
I took about a million pictures of this, and hated all of them until I took the last five or ten... then I couldn't choose! :D I took this one in my living room next to the window- yay for a rare slice of sunshine in the winter. Feels marvelous.

:bulletblue: Medium: Some Wolfe Brothers metallics, Milani Brow powder, Hard Candy 1000 lashes mascara, Mabelline Dream Matte Mousse, and some really, really, really old lipgloss that I should throw away before it grows a new colony of tiny, shiny bacteria.

I love this pic, especially that little half smile/smirk. It just looks so devious or kind of like go ahead and make my day. Love it.

Really impressive. So we're going fashion are we? You could probably get a variety of models and do makeup designs on them with tips in the descriptions.

:D It'd definitely be easier to get models than for my regular style art, that's for sure! But I think this was just a small foray into beauty makeup- I was home sick for several days and wanted to look nice at the end of it.

I see: because you were sick you wanted a goal that would be easy to achieve.

I love how this looks! The yellow with bluegreen really complements your eyes - I have eyes in kinda the same tone as you, and I wanna try out that makeup! And you're right, it is a really nice photo, it brings out the best of the look. It's true what they say, I guess - Practice makes perfect. :)

:D Thanks so much! I'm pleased with how it turned out, though it ended up looking like a LOT less makeup on camera than it was in real life. Odd how that works out!

I'd love to see you in something like this. Do, do, and take pictures!!!!

These shots are looking brilliant! I can really see an improvement in the way you photograph your make up (which is always helpful so that you can give your work the pixels it deserves!)

And its cool to see you trying out different things :)

Great stuff all round :B

:tighthug: Thank you! Yes, the photographing aspect of the makeup is the bane of my artistic existence. I'm no photographer- not even close. I wish I could get the makeup to look like it does in real life, but that's never the case. (And I'm far too cheap and lazy to invest in what it would require.) XD But I'm glad you see improvement! I've definitely come a long way on a road still with many miles on it.

Honestly you don't need expensive equipment! Okay so my camera was expensive (but I'll be honest with you its not expensive in camera terms) but my studio area, where I take all my body art images, probably cost me about 35!

2 standard floor lamps and a king sized bed sheet.

Its about thinking through how you'll get the best lighting and then your camera will be happier.

But yes: I can tell you've really tried and really improved on this shot so I am looking forward to seeing how you progress!

Well, don't expect too much- as sweet as your suggestions are, I don't tend to like taking pictures in the same place in my house... I sort of go where I feel moved. Photography doesn't make me happy, so I don't tend to... gravitate towards it. But unfortunately, there's no consistent way to make my type of art a little more permanent.

So there will be progress- but it must be dragged out of me with much reluctance, as far as the pictures go.

I completely understand. If we were all professional MUA's someone would be photographing for us etc, and we wouldn't need to think about it.

but until then... :D
