Cirque du Noir by sweetgreychaos Cirque du Noir by sweetgreychaos
One half of my Cirque du Noir (charity art fusion event held in Worcester) painted mask. I hate to upload several versions of this, but I don't like "splicing" images together... and it's so hard to get all the detail in on one front shot. :D

:bulletblue: Medium Wolfe Brothers (black & metallics). Little bit o' lipstick. :D

first comment- sweet! First- happy halloween to you! Will we be seeing another uploaded costume this year with matching makeup? Now to the deviation: steampunk is much more in this year- was that an inspiration with the inclusion of the cogs? My favorite part is the blending of the gold- its crisp as it needs to be yet ethereal, accepts the contours of the face beautifully and gives it a magical "pop"! I'd love to see more abstract designs without necessarily including concrete forms or images just imo. If I had your talent I'd probably spend some time traveling the country on some festival/carnival tour and I'm sure it would pay off.

Yes, there's an actual "Halloween" image coming- my Halloween is delayed to a mid-Nov party this year. This image was just a 'night before Halloween' charity event paint. The inclusion of the cogs was just that there was a lot of steampunk inspired art at the art fusion event I went to.

I've been working through a few abstract designs lately- namely the Dancer's Mask, and a few others... but you're right, it'd be fun to explore in more depth.
