Description

"Oh, Vampiness... there you are. I've been looking for you."

"Hadn't gone anywhere, love."

"Well, then maybe you could make an effort to surface a little more often. I could use more vamp, and less latent serial killer tendencies, thanks ever so."

"Yeah, especially at the mayor's dinner party."

"Ketchup. That was KETCHUP, and you know it."

"Odd, that. Didn't know it dried brown."

(EDITED) This is showing up again because I realized the file has been corrupted for a LONG time, and not visible to most folks. So, new file.

So... long ago, I did a thing in my journal to see who would be the next member of my 'Salutation Series'. Shou won from random dice draw, and even though I planned on doing something for her that weekend, I fell into this nasty set of circumstances where life was... less than kind to me. Thus the sort of images I've been producing since the Fall. (Surprise! Artist's moods tend to reflect in their work! Who know?...)

ANYWHO... there are a few things about Shou, and her art, that caused this to be.

1. She likes to get dressed up and have her art reflect her crazy awesome finds.
2. Her photography is this off-kilter, beautiful blast from the past.
3. She's really a feline underneath it all.

Voila. Vintage Vulpine Vamp. With apologies for tardiness. ...I needed to get back into this. It felt good.

Goodness, how did I miss this until just now?

You always say such lovely things about me, and I can't help but feel you're too kind. But, such words gladden my heart, and so I thank you, and am pleased to be any sort of inspiration or pleasure to others, even if mandated by a throw of the dice. =P

I'm sorry to hear that things have been gloomy for you recently. The tardiness of my comment on the finished work cancels out your lateness in tackling the prompt, I think, so no worries.

I love the feel of this. It's difficult to describe, but it reminds me of oil on canvas; a speedpaint (which is a talent I envy very much and am not talented enough to have developed). The whole thing has an 80's night club edge, too. <3

And I'd missed your little morsels in the beginning of the artist's notes, goodness. You have a way with words, even if you don't list them as a vocation.
