Artist's Comments

I've always been fond of Gustav Klimt (except, ironically, The Kiss, which is probably his most recognizable...), and after coming across a particularly stupendous bit of art that was inspired by Klimt recently (not on DA) I figured hey, why not?

Most of the patterns here are yanked from one piece or another, or adapted from bits that I liked in his paintings. I decided to keep the lips essentially bare, but for a little rosiness, just because Klimt's women tended to have these lovely, almost bitten-color lips. This design also originally had the neck involved, but I'm too tired. XD

I cannot fathom how you incorporate all of those miniscule details into your faces. It's like a painting exploded onto your face, took up residence, and blossomed anew (and yes, that's a compliment).

Love the colors and the patterns. You, madam, are plainly awesome.
