This went through so many versions... I kept adding and subtracting things, railing against 'traditional' things, like the lip style, and certain shapes- only to realize in the end that they looked the best. Sometimes things are overused for a reason. 
The skull motif was appreciated by my cheekbones. They felt some solidarity with all the little suckers.
